Chris' Birthday Card

Since this card has been delivered I thought I would post it now. Click on the image to enlarge. I have had a fun time making a total of 4 of these cards, each one is different from the others.

Spiritual Bouquet Card

I was asked to design a Spiritual Bouquet Card. I chose to do an accordion fold card with 6 panels. This photo shows the inside without text. I left the upper left and most of the 6th, last panel, for text. The back is blank and will have the list of Masses, Rosaries, Devotions, etc. that the group members will be giving to the recipient. The outside dimensions (including the covers) are 5.5 x 30.5. the covers are book board covered with original monoprints. The closure is a gold elastic string with a bow. Poppy-Rosebud shoe compostition

This little 5x7 card was an experiment based on the concept of using two flowers in a composition that resembles a shoe. It was a fun idea that makes a nice greeting card for a special occasion or just a bit of happy mail for a friend.

Spring Bouquet 1

This was my last watercolor painting done in March.
I had set myself a goal of twelve watercolors
for the year, averaging one a month. But since
I got behind, painted three little florals in March.

Thought that this little painting would work better as a card.
So I turned it into a 5.5 inch square card to give
to someone special. Can't say who,
that would ruin the surprise.

Birthday Card

We are pretty much still snowed in and yesterday was a family member's birthday. Luckily I already had his present but lacked gift wrap, bow and card. So I got out my craft stash and got to work. I had enough birthday wrap to make a bow; brown paper I could stamp "happy Birthday" on; but the card was a challenge. This is what I came up with:

Drew Betty from an Royalty free image on the internet onto 90 lb watercolor paper cut her out and glued on card. Use 140 lb WC paper for the card which I did a wash on with my watercolor paints. The words are my own. On the inside I lettered "HOT Birthday" large but wrote "no more snow" in small letters. After all the snow we shovel these past days (the snow plow is yet to be seen) I thought a tropical theme card would be welcomed.
